A skyscraper is built from the ground up. Without a strong foundation that can withstand the pressure of the building and the movement and vibrations from the elements, the structure will collapse.
We may have lofty goals and plans for our lives. But the gains we make are dependent upon the foundation of our spiritual lives.
If we think we are so great that we can simply achieve sanctity... we ignore the basic premise of our own faith.
We. Need. A. Savior.
We are incapable of sanctity on our own. We are sinful, broken, imperfect beings. We dig the same holes and run ourselves in the same circles of self righteousness.
The foundation of our spirituality requires that we can look at ourselves... admit that we are broken... accept that we need a savior... and then... with profound self awareness... in all our faults... open our eyes to see Perfection in all His Glory on high... reaching down to us saying “I love you”.
In all our brokenness... in all our faults... in all our shame...
He! He who IS. I AM WHO AM. He who gave His only Son. He who gave His Life. HE calls us by name to be held by Him. To worship Him. To Love Him.
And if that doesn’t find us on our knees... in our rightful place of blessed humility... then we need to check ourselves.
Today, let’s find ourselves humbly on our knees... acknowledging our wrongs, our pride, our brokenness... and let us ask the Lord to raise us up, as He pleases.
Have a great Wednesday!
